Everyone knows that when you have a newborn, you have to have the best diaper bag you can find. So, you search out the biggest, prettiest, sturdiest, and most pocketed bag that you can find. Most come with special wipe carriers or bottle pockets and ice packs, but no matter what brand you pick, having a back up bag for emergencies or just for everyday trips to the store can be a lifesaver. But, these bags can get expensive, so why would you go out and buy two or three bags? Well, you don’t! And here’s how:

These sites will start to bombard you with free samples of everything from wipes and diapers to balms and formula. You will also find that one or two will send you a free diaper bag packed with their free samples, offers, and some great money saving coupons. These free diaper bags might be a little smaller than the deluxe version that you purchased or received for your baby shower gift, but they are wonderful if you just have to take a trip to the grocery store or Wal-Mart.
2. Fill out all the forms at the OB/GYN’s office or clinic. When you first find out that you are pregnant and start seeing the doctor who will deliver your newborn, there are always tons of free offers in the doctor’s office. Take advantage of these, and fill out everything and send it in. While you might end up with extra free samples of certain items that you have already registered for, you will find some cool offers that you didn’t get online. Most doctor’s offices will have a great selection of free items for you too, so you will get some great samples from them as well. In the doctor’s office, you should be able to find an offer for a free diaper bag, even if it comes with a sample of formula or other baby product that you don’t like, fill out the information anyway. The bag will be worth it.
3. At the hospital. When you finally head to the hospital for the arrival of your bundle, you will end up with more free samples than you think you will ever use. From formula to diapers, wipes to creams, the newborn nurses will load you up with all sorts of goodies. Most hospitals also give out gifts to new parents, such as toys, newborn clothes with the hospital’s logo on them, toy boxes, and, yes, diaper bags. The diaper bag is one of the most popular gifts that a hospital will give a new family, as this is sometimes an item that is overlooked when you head in to have your baby. Usually, these bags are a little more sturdy than the ones that come with the free samples at the doctor’s office, and make awesome back up bags. These are also usually filled to the brim with free samples, extra diapers, formula, and other goodies that the nurses will give you to take home.
No matter where it comes from, a free diaper bag is always a good thing! Pack up your big, matching one to take on long trips, or when you know that you will be out for a long time, such as trips to family’s homes or a day shopping with friends. For those shorter trips to the grocery store or taking brothers and sisters to school, grab the smaller one. Keeping an extra in case of emergencies is also a great idea as well, since sometimes family members will need an extra one too. So, you can never have too many diaper bags, and if they are free, even better!
