If It Sounds Too Good To Be True It Probably Is
All over the Internet there are advertisements for people to get free stuff just by clicking on the link. Basically you have to use your common sense when looking for free stuff over the Internet.
There is a lot of free stuff available where you do not have to pay anything but if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. One of the more popular free advertisements recently has been for free I-pods. I clicked on the link as, hey, who would not want a free I-pod? But it sent me to a site where I had to check three boxes in the many pages that had advertisements for other things. Now after doing this I didn’t have to just check the three boxes but I had to sign up for them, which meant I had to pay for what I checked. How is that free? This is the case with many of the advertisements on the Internet where it says you will receive something for free that has substantial value.
There are many different places where you can get free stuff over the Internet. But you should know that even though much of the merchandise you will get can be a great bargain, hey its free, you will not be receiving anything for free that is worth a lot of money such as an I-pod or a laptop, which is another popular “free” advertisement.
Now there is stuff you can get for free over the Internet with the many sites available such as www.freebies.com, www.totallyfreestuff.com and www.freestuffpage.com, to name a few. Many of the things that you can get for free from these sites can be very useful such as free cosmetics or free food samples. But what many of these free things are is free samples from companies that are looking to eventually have you as a return customer so they will give away things for free. You can take advantage of these free samples and you may like them and eventually buy them. But you got the stuff for free anyway so how does it hurt to try them?
One of the places you can go to get free samples is directly from the website of the merchandiser. Many times they will have free offers for samples of their products. Even some retail stores offer free samples for some of the products they carry. A perfect example of this, and probably the best place to get free stuff, is the retail giant Wal-Mart. The website for Wal-Mart is always giving away free samples for the merchandise they carry. You can see this for yourself by visiting their website at www.walmart.com.
These are just a few places where you can get free stuff over the Internet. But with all the ludicrous claims out there to get free things such as I-pods, laptops, and even vacations you should be wary. You can check them out but if the item that advertised for free generally costs a substantial amount of money then there is a catch where you will have to pay money. Just remember to use common sense and when you see these types of ads think back to the old saying, “if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.”
